WHAT IS GATI SHAKTI SCHEME?

 

The scheme is aimed to ensure integrated planning and implementation of infrastructure projects in the next four years with focus on expediting works on the ground , saving costs and creating jobs. It will subsume the National Infrastructure Pipeline .It will cut down the logistics cost along with Increasing Cargo handling capacity and reducing the turnaround time at posts to boot trade.

Another important goal is the creation of industrial corridors (11 corridors) and Defense corridors (2 corridors) one in Tamil Nadu and the other in Uttar Pradesh . Gati Shakti Scheme will help to achieve the ambitious targets for 2024-2025. The scheme follows an integrated approach, it intends to bring together 16 infrastructure related ministries.

This will help to overcome issues like disjoined planning , lack of standardization , timely creation and utilization of infrastructure capacities.

Gati Shakti platform ; Creation of digital platform which will act as a common umbrella platform , through which coordination between various ministries can happen.

The scheme needs to address the structural and macroeconomic stability concerns, emanating from high public expenditure. Forming a stable, predictable , institutional and regulatory frame work. ensure proper implementation. Measures to tackle corruption, like proper monitoring.
