WHAT IS G20?

 

G20 was formed in1999  as a response of financial crisis of the late 1990s that hit East Asia and South East Asia in particular.

 Global financial stability involving  middle income counties is one of it's aim.

  2. Life Style For Environment( LIFE).
  3. Empowerment of Women.
  4. Digital public infrastructure and tech- enabled development in areas of health, education, agriculture, commerce.
  5. Skill mapping, Culture and tourism, climate financing, circular economy, global food security, green hydrogen, disaster risk reduction and resilience.
  6. Developmental cooperation, fight against economic crime, and multilateral reforms.


TROIKA

It is the top grouping in G20 that consists of current, previous and upcoming presidencies ( Indonesia, India and Brazil).

PRESIDENCY

The presidency of the G20 rotates every year among members , and Troika ensures continuity of G20 agenda.
The G20 has no permanent secretariat . The agenda and work are coordinated by representatives of the G20 Countries , known as sherpas who work together with the finance ministers and governors of the central banks. The primary mandate of the grouping is for international economic cooperation with particular emphasis to prevent future financial crisis across world. It plays significant role in shaping the global economic agenda.
